60. Much like 'Funhouse' The Stooges 3rd album 'Raw Power' doesn't do a whole lot for me, mostly because of Iggy Pops vocals. The instrumentals are good throughout the album however, I love the raw presentation and they reflect what the title suggests, but Iggys presence just makes them a chore to get through with how grating and obnoxious he is.

Raw Power is the pot of quicksand at the end of the rainbow, and if that doesn't sound attractive, then you've been living on borrowed time for far too long. It's not an easy album, by any.

Rush 'Power Windows' Album Review

Although now considered hugely influential, when Raw Power, The Stooges' third album, was originally released in 1973 it was largely looked down upon by mainstream rock. With its barely containable youthful energy and a Tasmanian devil on vocals, the album would serve as a blueprint for the punk revolution that was only a few years away.

If ever an album was wholly encapsulated by its title, it's The Stooges ' incendiary third album, Raw Power. Released in 1973, it set the bar for a wave of punk bands to try and, in most cases, fail to eclipse. It remains one of the most visceral, electrifying pieces of musical savagery you'll ever hear.

Iggy And The Stooges Raw Power Live In The Hands Of The Fans MVD

Similar to their first two albums (1969's The Stooges and 1970's Fun House), Raw Power was a slow burn. But in the years following, Raw Power's influence cannot be understated. From punk to post-hardcore, The Stooges' fingerprints are all over modern music, the ghost of Raw Power haunting angry kids and their guitars.
